I love a Brown paper Bag!

I do!!

I love the look and feel of a full brown paper bag..wierd huh?

Probably because of what it seems to stand for in my eyes...natural...friendly...healthy..rustic..

Nothing better that a pile of fruit and veg in a brown paper bag...not plastic!

I'm on an anti plastic rant at mo...trying not to buy in supermarket fruit and veg in plastic...don't think the cashiers like me as i pile loose carrots on conveyor belt!!!

So i decided to try and recreate a paper bag...and the new Affectionately Yours DSP is fantastic for this!

....by the way..have you checked out the new catalogue!!!!

This is what i came up with ...

A tag using the Number of Years stamp set, some dapper Denim ink and ribbon and Crumb Cake cardstock completes the simplicity of this bag..perfect for a couple of nice bottles of smellies.

It's a good day to get married!

and no...not me!

A Friend recently asked me to make a special card for some friends
who were getting married...

She sent me some photos of the invite for colours and style and so i set about designing a card to reflect that.

This is the invite...

and this is my card!

I had to raid my retired and soon to be retired stash for the Pool Party glitter ribbon, only available until end May...a long retired stamp set called Loving Thoughts and Flowering Flourishes, current Grateful Bunch stamp set,  some vellum,  soon to be retired curvy corner trio punch and soon to be retired silver fancy vellum..there is a lot of great products going at the end of May so get your orders in before they are gone forever....

If you do decide to order don't forget to use hostess code FFZWCHBC.

Layering the new In colours

Finally got around to playing with the new In Colours for 2016-2018

Dapper Denim
Emerald Envy
Peekaboo Peach
Sweet Sugarplum and
Flirty Flamingo...got to love the names!

Just a simple collection of cards to showcase the colours and a fabulous new sentiment set...Layering Love (see what i did with the post title!!??) and Flower Patch which has some really strong flower images.

Don't need no bling or fuss, just stampin and cardstock...

I also made some cute little keyrings for my ladies, using a small flower from Flower Patch and the Sentiment from Grateful Bunch.

Here are some close ups of the individual colours and ink pads...

Looking forward to my drop in catalogue launch on Saturday 11th at Newtown Market Hall from 10am-1pm...
pop in and see me.

when i have got the colours that is...as i have not got them all..boo...

This weeks colour challenge from the Global Design Project was using
Island Indigo...My Fav!
Tip Top Taupe and
Mint Macaron

No real inspiration came to me until i suddenly, out of the corner of my eye caught my shopping bag designed by Orla Kiely.
The only stamp sets suitable were Flower Shop...an oldie but still a goodie and available with a matching punch as a bundle...even better!

Teeny Tiny Sentiments were used for the Happy Birthday and punched using new Duet Banner Punch, available from June 1st

It's all about Family...

I was recently commissioned to do a Family Tree for a friend from wood...not something i had done before but i love crafting of all sorts so had a go!

Having already bought the burner tool thingy, think that's the technical term! and practiced on various spare bits of wood lying around now was the time to do the real thing!

.......this is the 3rd attempt i think!

...and the final piece!
I was quite pleased with it...some retired dsp added to the background , with some silver ribbon trim around tree trunk to finish off!

just a quick one today...bought myself a new strimmer!..(no not trimmer...Strimmer!)

Doesn't have to be complicated....

I love having a stash of boxes and bags on hand to throw in a quick gift for a
 friend or family member...
and with my brain i always forget birthdays until last minute!

In a previous post i told you about my scrap using crafting that ended up with quite a few boxes and tags....i had a lot of ladies commenting that they would like the instructions to the boxes...and i always do what i'm told  (ahem!)

so here is...finally...a video tutorial! i know it took me a while but with house renovations and veg garden well under way other things tend to take over!

and that's my son photo bombing!

For the tutorial i have used the new In Colours coming out in the new catalogue in June...exciting!
Loving the new colour combo of Flirty Flamingo with Dapper Denim....

To enjoy the video click on the picture!

Don't forget you can still order from the retiring list and current catalogue until end May, and bundle prices go up so if you are thinking of getting a bundle , now's the time!

Old & New

well my pre order has arrived!!
I was fairly restrained as the stamp sets i was after were not on the pre order,
 so i shall wait...

but i did get the new in  colours...of course!
and a new punch!...and 1 pack new DSP.

This is what i have made this morning....(Wednesday)
but i am not posting this until a couple days later as the card is for my eldest daughter's 15th!! Birthday!!!

A mix of old & new, Shine on DSP,... A Number of years bundle, and Gold fancy designer vellum for the envelope.

Just a bit of info, the bundles that are carrying over won't be a big as saving as they are now...so if you are thinking of getting one and it is going to be in new catalogue (i.e not on retiring list) the saving would be greater now.

You can still order these bundles until the end of May...and if you order online don't forget to put in the hostess code FFZWCHBC   to receive a FREE new catalogue and a gift from me.

Bee Happy!

Just playing with a few new items from the pre order...and this particular stamp set was given to me by my upline, Ruth, as a birthday prezzie!!!

Think it was the camera in this particular set that made it an ideal gift as i am also a photographer!

Brilliant set to make some quick cards and tags, but of course i can't show you the whole set so here are some sneak peaks teamed with some retired items.

Basic Black is  a great contrast with the Kraft card for a quick simple card....

These little wooden tags stamped with staz on look great with my stash of boxes i made the other week...

As always any of these items can be ordered through my online shop...
(except the wooden tags.)

The new catalogue items can be ordered from 1 June when the catlogue goes live!

Love You!

I love a challenge...
this weeks Global Design challenge #GDP034, was a sketch one so fairly open,
but i seem to go with Timeless Textures lately as it is an amazing set and so versatile.

Teemed with Friendly Wishes it makes a simple yet elegant card.

Colours i went with were Basic grey card and  Very vanilla cardstock, with Going Places DSP .

Ink colours were Delightful Dijon, Smokey Slate and Basic Grey for the background stamping and embossed Gold for the sentiment.
The gold metallic thread completed the card.

So  i will upload and see how goes!

Retirement list is still active, great bargains to be had, don't forget to use the hostess code..FFZWCHBC !

Inspiration from unlikely sources...

Inspiration can come from anywhere...
whether it be for colours or shape or a bag or box design.
Inspiration for these cards did come from an unlikely source,
something i had been staring at everyday for a couple years...
my shower curtain!

I loved the way the pop of colour came out of a fairly plain background...and these using my favorite colours...Daffodil Delight,  Island Indigo and Melon Mambo.
The background is Staz On Stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, the pop of colours are then painted in using the ink from the re inkers.
Staz on is a must or it will bleed.

As you can see you can apply this design to most of your stamp sets....go on have a go!

Don't forget there is still time to order from the current catalogue and retiring list, available until end of May.  Make sure you put in the hostess code FFZWCHBC to receive a Free Catalogue and gift from me.
